1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using RodTree (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

RodTree is a family-tree builder that lets users create, edit, visualize, and share family trees. Features include people and relationship management, photos, a mind-map view, a classic tree view, sharing with view-only or editor permissions, custom themes, and export to PDF, PNG, and GEDCOM.

The Free plan is available on all platforms with no time limit. Lifetime Pro and add-on packs are optional one-time purchases (see section 7).

3. User Accounts

You must create an account to use the full Service. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use. The mobile app additionally supports a guest mode in which data lives only on your device.

You retain full ownership of all family-tree data, photos, and other content you create using the Service. RodTree does not claim ownership of your content. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to add information about other people to your trees and for obtaining any consents required by applicable law.

6. Service Availability

The Free plan and the core features of RodTree are provided as a free service. We aim for high uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted access due to maintenance, updates, or technical issues. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of the Service at any time, with reasonable notice where practical.

7. Pricing, Purchases and Refunds

Lifetime Pro. A one-time purchase of $24.99 USD (approximately 1000 UAH) that unlocks unlimited trees and people, 500 included photo slots, 3 included editor slots, exports (PDF / PNG / GEDCOM), and custom themes. There is no recurring charge — you pay once and the upgrade is yours forever on your account.

Add-on packs. Optional one-time top-ups that stack with Lifetime Pro:

The current price is also displayed in the application at the time of purchase. Hryvnia (UAH) prices are an indicative conversion of the USD price; the exact UAH amount charged on the web is shown by WayForPay before you confirm payment.

Cross-platform billing. RodTree is a cross-platform service (web, Android, iOS). Purchases made on the web are processed through our external billing provider WayForPay via Visa and Mastercard. Purchases made inside the mobile apps are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play according to their respective terms. All purchases are tied to your RodTree account and unlock the same benefits across platforms.

No subscriptions. All paid offerings (Lifetime Pro and add-on packs) are one-time payments. Nothing renews automatically. You will never be charged again unless you initiate a new purchase.

Refunds. Because Lifetime Pro and add-on packs are digital goods that are delivered immediately, all sales are generally final. However, if you experience a technical issue that prevents you from receiving the purchased benefits, please contact us at [email protected] within 14 days of the purchase. We will investigate and, where the issue is on our side, we will either restore the benefits or issue a full refund to the original payment method. Refund requests for purchases made inside the Apple App Store or Google Play must be submitted to those platforms in accordance with their refund policies.

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be error-free, secure, or available at all times. You are responsible for keeping your own backup copies of important data, for example by using the GEDCOM export available on Lifetime Pro.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, RodTree shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to loss of data or content. Our total liability for any direct damages will not exceed the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service for violation of these Terms or for other lawful reasons at our discretion. Upon termination your right to use the Service ceases immediately; data deletion is described in our Privacy Policy.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify users of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
